Seahyun Lee, opens this weekend in a private apartment in Paris’s 16th arrondissement. Organized by CHOI&LAGER Gallery in Cologne, the show can be visited by appointment at evening openings on March 30 and April 5, or at other times through April 30. Call 06 23 95 07 32 for details.
PRINCELY CHEESE FROM HAPPY COWS
Beaufort, the “prince of Gruyères” and one of France’s 46 AOC (appellation d’origine contrôlée) cheeses, is the star product sold at La Coop, a handsome new boutique near the Luxembourg Garden, but the shop also carries a selection of other cheeses and specialties from the
Savoie and Haute-Savoie regions of France, including diot sausages and other meat and charcuterie, wine, bilberry jam, crozets (little squares of pasta made with buckwheat flour) and yogurt. In the vaulted stone basement cheese bar, customers can sample cheese platters with a glass of wine while watching a video of the region’s gorgeous scenery and happy cows grazing on the mountainside. MONUMENTAL RESTORATION PROJECT
Paris’s Panthéon, where France’s “great and good” are interred with full honors, is about to undergo a 10-year, €100-million restoration. The scaffolding will be covered by sponsored works of art to create a huge outdoor contemporary art exhibition.
