Winds of Change in Couture
Paris couture week has just closed. This sumptuous display of the latest handmade creations by the likes of Chanel, Givenchy and Dior proves that the great houses of yesteryear are still plying their traditional art and craft. But there are winds of change coming from young designers from here and afar, including Frenchman Julien Fournie (above right) and Mexican/Canadian Antonio Ortega (left) of Mexico and Canada. Couture is alive and well and living in Paris.
