Admission, but no apology

French President Emmanuel Macron has condemned the events of October 17, 1961, when French police violently repressed a peaceful demonstration against the war in Algeria and threw the bodies of some of their victims into the Seine to cover up their actions. No apology was forthcoming, however. (France 24)
