Le Garde Robe is known for its organic and biodynamic wines, excellent charcuterie and cheese plates, and small number of rickety tables and chairs, but the king is its croque monsieur, made with Comté and jambon de Bayonne (the ham goes on top) on a thick slice of caramelized, crusty miche from the Boulangerie Julien. The Garde Robe’s secret ingredient is a sprinkle of white wine, but it’s really all in the topnotch ingredients. Susan Herrick-Luraschi. Click here to send us your “best in Paris” recommendations.
