C’est Ironique Sign of the Weeque
Spotted by reader Emily Ruck Keene.
It’s a homies invasion! Demonstrating the ongoing, if ill-advised, appeal of American slang, stores are cropping up around Paris with a name that was originally associated with street gangs. “Homies” is a fashion boutique at Abbesses and “Homyz” is a furniture store, which kind of makes sense, but the “beauty space” should have done a little more research before getting the sign made. “Ho my hair. And while you’re at it, pimp my nails.”
Have you seen a ridiculous sign in Paris? Or anywhere in France? Send me a photo in care of contact@paris-update.com
