C’est Ironique Sign of the Weeque
Oh dear. This in-your-face fast-food place on Boulevard Soult is making an unpalatable pun either on bouffe, the French slang word for “food” or “meal,” or on boeuf, the French non-slang word for “beef.” Or perhaps both. In any case, it was a bad idea. But not quite as bad as adding the “Like” fist clenching a mostly flesh-colored hot dog. At least I hope it’s a hot dog.
Note to readers: The C’est Ironique “inadvertently funny shop signs” feature has become so popular that it is now taking on a life of its own. Starting September 17, there will be a “Sign of the Weeque” every other week in alternation with my regular rants and ravings.
Have you seen a ridiculous sign in Paris? Or anywhere in France? Send me a photo in care of contact@paris-update.com.
